Meet the Headmaster

I would like to offer you the warmest welcome to Brooke Priory, a family-based school located in the heart of Oakham. In its third decade, Brooke Priory School has nurtured and encouraged children to thrive and progress to their fullest potential.

The values we instil into Brooke Priory children will be the foundation upon which they will build their future and we undertake that challenge seriously. Every child is unique and learns at a different pace and style, encouraging them ‘to be the best they can be’ is central to our ethos and is at the heart of all we do.

Childhood is precious and I am passionate that our boys and girls seize every opportunity to learn, play, explore and flourish in an atmosphere of fairness, encouragement and mutual respect. This is achieved with small classes, outstanding and talented staff and excellent facilities which ensures that every child receives the very best start to their education.

It is my absolute privilege to be Headmaster of such a unique school and I would be delighted to escort you on a personal tour and share with you my enthusiasm for the school and what makes Brooke Priory so special.Headmaster Flint

My journey in education began with a transformative experience working with children at sports camps in the UK, France and U.S.A, which ignited my passion for making a positive impact and a difference for young people. I pursued my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at University College Worcester, where I received exceptional support from dedicated lecturers and mentors during my placements across the county. I believe in teaching with authenticity and have always sought to learn from my colleagues, integrating their strengths into my own practice.

My career took me to Guernsey, where I was honoured to be quickly promoted to Head of Year while teaching Physical Education and Mathematics. This role provided me with invaluable experience in leading departments and taking on senior responsibilities within schools in the Channel Islands.

A significant chapter of my professional development occurred at Nae Nae College in New Zealand, where I had the privilege of immersing myself in Polynesian culture. This experience enriched my understanding of diverse educational environments.

Currently, I call Brooke Priory home, a remarkable school that has introduced me to the world of Preparatory Education. Here, I have witnessed firsthand the world of opportunity, traditions, and positivity that define our community. As a senior leader, I have overseen Teaching and Learning, staff management, safeguarding, and pastoral care, culminating in appointment as Headmaster in 2019. I consider this role to be the most rewarding in the world, with exciting times ahead.
